The work, commissioned by the
Toelz Boys' Choir, was composed during the Second Lebanese War
(July 2006) and was recorded in Munich at the beginning of October,
immediately after the war's end. It is sung in a number of ancient
languages: biblical Hebrew, Medieval German, 18th century French,
and Palestinian Arabic dialect.
Tsippi Fleischer arrived for the last rehearsals in Germany and was present during the recording.
