The Egyptian poet Iman Mersal -- currently resident in Canada – dares to describe the coldness of the Western world, as opposed to the warm Oriental world from which she emerged, in a modern, cynical style.
Tsippi Fleischer selected several lines from Mersal’s Alternative Geography (Cairo, 2006), and through her music imbued them with a tempestuously expressive character.
